Situational Music

8 November 2015
Exploratorium, San Francisco, CA

Programmed by Zarouhie Abdalian and Joseph Rosenzweig

This concert program, Situational Music, presents compositions that have influenced the development of Functions. Functions consists of a suite of notecards with written instructions that prompt negotiation, cooperation, antagonism, and play among groups of museum visitors; Situational Music is a performance of historic prose scores and instruction pieces that similarly use the written score to prompt and define the terms of interaction among its performers and audience.
